A challenge for those who are keen to improve
What do these degrees require of students?
In every case, students have to be interested and keen to excel, to learn, to discover a world unfamiliar to them. This is the basic starting point. If there is no desire to improve, to understand, to gain knowledge, if there is no clear drive to progress, I cannot attempt to take up a challenge such as studying for a Bachelor’s degree which takes so long to achieve.
As well as this keenness to learn and reach further, it’s important that I know what profession I would like, how I want to earn a living, how I want to contribute to improving society.
- Do you think you’re good at teaching children?
- Are you passionate about the truth and want to know and communicate it?

- Do you feel responsible for improving society through families?
- Do you want to unpack audiovisual language and enrich it with what you can contribute?
- Do you love cinema and all that surrounds it?
- Do you have something to contribute about the neurological process of learning?
- Do you want to know the psychological and business mechanisms that move the world of advertising?
- Are you interested in the practical applications of technology?
Sports Science
There are benefits and values offered to people by physical exercise and sport, considered to be social activities in the public interest. For this reason, these professional services must be provided by qualified personnel who are suitably licenced due to the direct link to people’s health and wellbeing. The cornerstone of the course consists of human kinetics through physical exercise and sport, an object of study that students should understand as knowledge of social, professional and scientific interest.
Early Childhood Education
As is evident, this qualification requires students to love working with children, feel a vocation for teaching them and sharing their development. It is a qualification for which, in addition, you have to have a clear sense of your responsibility, so it is important to understand all the aspects of the work and of the social role you play. As well as vocation, it requires knowledge that will make you understand psychological, sociological and didactic elements and many more things, which will give you a broader view of your future career.
Primary School Education
As in the case of Early Childhood Education, students who wish to devote themselves to Primary School Education have to feel a vocation towards education and children. They need responsibility, commitment and the understanding that it is a very delicate task, in which, with children under their charge, they are shaping the future of society. In addition, as in the case of Early Childhood Education, students need to understand about psychology, sociology and teaching methodology, because these are the essential tools needed for education
Journalism
A journalist who lacks curiosity, who is uninterested in the world around them, in injustice or in the brilliant actions of many citizens is inconceivable. Therefore, the first thing is to be curious, to feel interest. The second is to have a considerable mastery of narrative techniques, which equates to writing properly. Based on these two central components, there is a wide range of possible interests and concerns.
Media Studies
Sensitivity towards image, rhythms, audience tastes, creativity. This is an activity that demands vitality, the curiosity that is common to so many activities and the ability to dive into the unexplored. Audiovisual communication has to do with passion for images, for creation, for how it captivates us, how it hooks us. This activity also needs people who have their feet on the ground, while it focuses on exploring and on understanding how things are done so that the entirety of the collective work which an audiovisual production constitutes runs as it should.
Advertising and Public Relations
On one hand, students need to have the curiosity and interest that is required in journalism and also the creativity and passion for how we build messages that is called for in Media Studies. But here they also need an in-depth understanding of the workings of mechanisms for decision making, perception and understanding those messages. Plus, and particularly at the moment, it is essential to understand how digital culture works, as regards both people’s relationships and commercial mechanisms of niches, the mass market, segments, interaction, etc.
